Heavy Feathers Film
On June 8th, I wrapped shooting for the short film, Heavy Feathers, written and directed by Joosje Duk (NYU). Heavy Feathers was filmed in Albany, NY. Having grown up in the Albany area, it was an extra special experience filming in a place that means so much to me. I played the role of Elsie.
Heavy Feathers tells the story of Myna, a young girl who finds out that her father, who passed away 18 years ago, might still be somewhere out there. She is eager to find out the truth but the truth isn't easy to come by with a sister, Elsie, who thinks a life in the dark is a better life and a mother, Scarlett, whose truth is a fairy tale she doesn't even believe in herself.
May Readings
May was a really exciting month with readings of new plays in NY! I read for the role of Elisabeth in a staged reading of Letters to Sala by Arlene Hutton at The New Dramatists and for the role of Emily in a staged reading of Tonight at Noon by Jeff Tabnick at The Brick Theater. Both readings were directed by Eric Nightengale.
In one month, I'll be headed to Williamstown to spend my summer working in the Apprentice Company!
